I'd consider miskeecare's suggestion above first. If you have enabled iCloud Photo Library and optimise storage options then it could well be that there are no images to copy off via explorer. You might want to Download iCloud for Windows - Apple Support and retrieve your photos that way.

Thanks TT2 and also miskeecare. I believe it is the iCloud Photo Library enablement that is doing it. This seems to be a Feature, not a problem !. Strange though, because I am pretty sure that I was able to import the picrues via Exploerer onto a Windows 7 PC, and I haven't changed the setting on the iPhone. But anyway, problem solved, and many thanks for taking an interest. Chrisfromprovence

Hello Turingtest2, Many thanks for the reply. I can try updating the driver, but the Laptop can see the iPhone. It shows up as "Owner's iPhone" under "This PC" . Under the iPhone it shows "Internal Storage" with 7.25G free out of 14.7G. But if you click on the "Internal Storage" it blanks it and says "This folder is Empty". On other PCs I am pretty sure I see the DCIM folder at this point, then opening that shows the pictures on the iPhone. Does this stack up with a possible driver problem please ? With Kind Regards, chrisfromprovence.
