Apple airport extreme
Thanks for the info.
We assume that you have already tested the AirPort Extreme using another AC socket that you know is working. Would that be correct?
If that is the case, the internal power supply inside the AirPort Extreme has failed. Apple will replace the device if it is less than 1 year old. However, if.....you have AppleCare in effect on one of your Macs, the AirPorts are usually covered under that umbrella for up to 3 years from the purchase date.
The "rules" are a bit complicated, so you would need to get with Apple Support if you feel that the AirPort might be covered by the AppleCare warranty.
If the AirPort Extreme is not covered for replacement, it is possible to open up the AirPort Extreme, remove the power supply board and install a new board to see if that might resolve the issue. But, having done this myself, I will say that this is not a job for most users, unless they have done things like this before.
A shop could probably handle everything for you, but the cost of parts and labor would likely exceed the cost of a new AirPort Extreme.

You can replace the internal power supply. Not a job to take on lightly. You can buy a new power supply via eBay.
Repair AC version Time Capsule or Extreme - LaPastenague
If you need to get a store to do it.. it becomes a job that is more expensive than it is worth. You will need to buy a replacement router. Also if this died in a storm for example.. then it could be more extensive failure than power supply, which means time and effort plus parts for nothing.
Is there a reason to repair.. ?? ie if this is a Time Capsule with information on the hard disk you need to recover tell us and we can give you more info.
If it is >3years old well it is normal lifespan for domestic routers.
I recommend an Asus as replacement.. something like RT-AC86U or 88U.
Which model of AirPort Extreme do you have?
Is this the most recent "tall" or "tower" shaped version.....or.....an older "flat" or "square" version that looks like a small white pizza box?
If it is an older version......please look on the bottom of the device for the model number. It is usually embedded in the foam pad base. The model number starts with an "A" followed by four numbers. Post back with that info.
We do NOT need a serial number, so please do not post that kind of information.
