How do I turn off two factor authentication?

I couldn’t get rid of the annoying, repetitive notifications on my iPhone to turn on two-factor authentication. So, I turned on two-factor authentication, intending to then turn it off again and silence the notifications. Surprise - there is no option to turn it off, once you turn it on!!! Does anyone know how to turn off two-factor authentication? For me, the risk of getting locked out of my phone outweigh any security concerns. Thanks!

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.4.1

If you turned it on within the last two weeks you may be able to turn it off again. See the following from Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it off. Certain features in the latest versions of iOS and macOS require this extra level of security, which is designed to protect your information. If you recently updated your account, however, you can unenroll for a period of two weeks. Just open your enrollment confirmation email and click the link to return to your previous security settings. Keep in mind, this makes your account less secure and means that you can't use features that require a higher level of security.

Thank you, FoxFifth. I was able to revert to my original settings through the email link. I have a problem with Apple making this change without fully explaining what they‘re doing, or specifics on what ‘features‘ you can’t access. Ery annoying!!!

I personally like two-factor but I'm glad you caught it within the two week window and were able to turn it off as you wanted.

I intended to slow down but that doesn't seem to be happening yet. 100,000 really isn't a goal for me -- but after that I for certain won't have any goals!
