Just subscribed to Sling. Wanting to watch the US Open Tennis. Sling is not an icon on my Apple TV. There is no search field as the Sling instruction show for getting it on the Apple TV. Any work-around?

Only the ATV 4th gen and the ATV 4K have an App Store. On the third gen, you're restricted to the built in apps.
You could get the Sling app on an iOS device and use Airplay to play it through the Apple TV on your television. This assumes that the Sling apps doesn't restrict AirPlay.

Not on a third gen Apple TV. Sling requires access to the App Store.
