Picture Resolution

I need to change a picture to a smaller resolution. How can I do that?

What do you mean by resolution? Different folks have different meanings on that word.

You can reduce the file size, or the pixel dimensions. Also, are you asking this in conjunction with Photos.app?

If you're using Photos then export using the File -> Export command. Explore the settings under Jpeg Quality. Lower quality will give you smaller file sizes.
