How to change root password when option is greyed out

Using iMac 27' Mid 2011 2.7 Ghz i5 with OS X 10.12.6 Sierra


Attempting to make use of root password to migrate some ARD settings(lists, scripts, etc) to this Mac.


Have followed instructions on How to enable the root user on your Mac or change your root password - Apple Support


However, when I get to Directory Utility, after entering admin credentials, choose Edit I see the following:User uploaded file:

The option to change the root password is greyed out.

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)
