Apple does give a discount to teachers and Enrolled college students, with paperwork to demonstrate enrollment or affiliation.

If you have an Apple-owned Store available, their discounts are the same, but policies are often more liberal (because you can not scam them as easily as online) and may include the same educational discount for High school and Middle school students.

In very round numbers, the discount is about US$300 on a MacBook Pro, which is about the cost of AppleCare Plus, which you should have unless you can afford to pay for a $750 screen replacement in year two, out-of-pocket.

--------

Apple gives computers and services to large national charities. They are not prepared to deal with individual cases of need. There are Charities and Educational Institutions that may be able to help you, including some Schools that may give you a grant toward the purchase of a computer for your studies there. Ask your Fnancial Aid office.

Your school may have a bulk-buying arrangement, but it may not be any better than what you can get yourself -- unless they have a 'storefront' for selling and servicing computers on campus.
