"Allow Teredo tunnels/Allow incoming IPSec authentication" What do these terms mean and what happens if I allow them?

I'm trying to set up my Apple Time Capsule. However, I'm not quite sure what "Teredo tunnels" and "Allow incoming IPSec authentication mean. If I allow these options, what are they used for and what happens when you allow these options?

Teredo tunnels are used for mixed IPv6 to IPv4 if your ISP requires it. The setting will depend on if you are now getting IPv6 address or not. And if there is also an IPv4 address with it. Check your ISP or trial and error if you need it or not. If it is required you will not be able to connect to the internet without it.

IPSEC is for BTMM connection. If you turn it off it could stop the Back to My Mac connection to your network or just to the TC. As a BTW.. BTMM is going in the next edition of Mac OS.

To add a bit to what LaPastenague has mentioned.......

If you have an Internet connection now.....and Allow Teredo Tunnels is not checked......then you probably don't need to enable this setting.

If you have an Internet connection now, and Allow Teredo Tunnels is not checked.....and you enter a check mark in the box.....chances are you will not notice any difference or change.....because Teredo Tunnels did not need to be enabled.

If you have Allow Teredo Tunnels enabled......the box is checked.....and you uncheck the box and notice no difference, then Teredo Tunnels probably does not need to be enabled, and you can leave the box unchecked.

LaPastenague also mentioned...... "BTMM is going in the next edition of Mac OS". I think he meant to say that it appears now that Back to My Mac is not going to be in the next version of the Mac operating system.
