iTunes version 12.8.0.150 on MacbookPro, when listening podcasts is skipping. It jumps after 2-3 minutes to the next one. Podcasts are streamed, not downloaded. I reauthorized my mac, ticked off "Skip when shuffling" on that particular podcast, but it keeps skipping.
Is there some workaround found by community? Obviously Apple is not going to fix it. As I understand, that problem is around from 2014 or something like this...

Oh, never mind, let's just use some other software. iTunes is clearly not for podcast lessening... In the meantime I tried fresh install of Yosemite, and iTunes from fresh install did not skip. However it started after upgrade to the latest, 12.8.
Some people have described that ticking off "Skip when shuffling" has worked in similar kind of problem. In my case it does not. It plays for 3-4 mins, then jumps to the next issue (older) of the same podcast, plays that for a 4-5 mins then jumps next...
Atm, in my work, windows version of iTunes (ver 12.7.3.46) plays correctly, no skipping...

I did as you suggested, but the problem remained. I created new account, subscribed to the same podcast and saw that the same issue was there also...
Will try to install some older OSX to the external drive and see if it is present in, like, Yosemite... I'm currently running High Sierra.

That is a very different kind of skipping. That checkbox is for not listening to it at all when shuffling. E.g. an audio track that you like less than the others. (Many music albums have one such track … 😝)

I think it has to do with connecting to the server where these files reside. A different OS version wouldn’t make a difference then.
Update, windows version of iTunes started also skipping.
Would that be from a different network as well as other software and OS?
