Setting up old iPad requires 4 digit passcode

I am trying to set up an old iPad (as a new iPad-not restore-same apple id). It asks for the new iPad's passcode, but it allows only a 4 digit one. The new iPad has a 6 digit passcode. Kindly advise.

Hello georgiosi,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you are being asked for a passcode for the old iPad you are trying to set up. I would suggest treating it as if you have forgotten the passcode for your iPad. Take a look at this support article to walk you through the process.

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

This will erase your iPad and allow you to set it up as you wish.

Best regards.
