After my security upgrade my imac installed it and then stopped. On restart the apple logo appears and the dark grey line underneath is full but nothing else happens. How do i restart my imac?

Oh dear - what a shame ! You may wish to reset the smc/pmu. Disconnect the power cord, hold the power button for about a minute, release it, plug the power cord back in and press the power button which is on the backside of your imac. After that, hold down apple, option, p, and r keys together for 3 chimes , then release ‘em and let the imac continue booting. Some updates require 2 restarts as part of the process, this is apparently normal, and should not be interrupted..anyways hope this helps
