Yeah,
I forgot.
You can insert a photo/image as part of a note, but no way into insert a photo into a sketch in the iOS Notes app.
There are other third party drawing/sketching/notes apps that will let you do this and draw/write on a photo/image.
This would eliminate your issues/frustrations with Apple’s iOS Notes app.
The built-in iOS Notes apps is very basic and there are many things it can’t do, that a more full featured, third party app can do.
Place your photo/image into the Photos app.
Then open the Apple Notes app and enter the sketch portion.
In the lower right hand corner, tap the camera icon.
It should give you the option to choose your Photos library where you can pick an image to insert, from your Photos library, into the sketch area of the Apple iOS Notes app.
Thank you, but when I enter the sketch choice, there is no camera icon in the bottom right corner. At the bottom there is only the tools including the ruler, then the color choices, then nothing. There is no way to acess the photo library that I can see, and no way to paste a photo into the sketch area. And the ruler is only available in the sketch area, in the regular drawing mode it does not appear.
Thank you again! I was hoping there was a way, and that I would be able to use that ruler. It is great as you can use it with Apple pencil to draw line and it tells you the angle. I am having lots of trouble learning to draw heads by sighting angles, instead of using a grid. Oh well, back to the drawing board!!
I already know this. What I need to find out is if it is possible to insert or paste a photo into the Notes Sketch area so I can use that great ruler to figure out angles.
