i cannot get my iPad to update, I don't have a computer, I have an iPad and an iPhone, is there a way to update my iPad without connecting to a computer? Cause if I wanted to have to have a computer I would have one, kind of the whole reason I got an iPad is so I didn't have to have a computer..

Are you trying to use cellular data to update? If so,
the update is larger than what is allowed to download
over cellular data.
Either connect to a WiFi network to update or use
the cable to connect to a computer and use the
latest version of iTunes on the computer to do the update.
It says there’s an update available for ios11.4, but it is light gray and I cannot click on it, it also says the version of iOS I am running does not support wirelessly updating to this version of iOS

What happens when you try to update? Are you seeing error messages?

And, by the way, the iPad works perfectly without having a computer ... updates and all.
Make sure you are connected to a WiFi connection, then do your online backup using your iCloud account (always a good idea), then go to Settings => General => Software Update. If there is an update that is available, it will tell you there. If there is not an update for yours, it will say you are up to date.
