I have an older mac book pro, I am not the first owner so I don't have information on any upgrades that may or may not have been done. But I recently purchased a new mac book pro and instead of just throwing this one away i was wanting to trade it in. I went online to run the serial number but it could not be validated. How do I, or am I even eligible to do this since it won't validate the serial number on my pro?

You do not even say what Mac it is, year, size, processor, RAM, storage, screen, overall condition.
No serial number you are out of luck.
Drop it off at your nearest Apple store and they will recycle it for you.

But as i was saying the serial number isnt recognized, how do solve this?
