Midi channels ¨saved¨in SMF format 0

I work on a project that required the GM sound bank! I use the Apple quicktime synth ( I connect it to the GM device in the environnemet window). I compose in multi-tracks mode (format 1). I got to ship it to the company a MIDI file SMF format 0! I follow the steps in the manual, but when I merge all the regions in a single one, all the channels assigned for each individual tracks are lost or not saved... So, when I open the file in another session, I can't demix it by channels cause the file contains only one channel. Can someone tell me what I do wrong?

Thank you!

Starting from your multi-track composition try the following:

1. For each track do
MIDI > Insert Instrument MIDI settings as events
MIDI > Region Parameters > Normalize Region Parameters

2. Select all regions and apply Region > Merge > Regions

This will create a single region on the currently selected track. You may open it in the event editor to verify that the events have multiple channels.

3. Set the channel parameter of the track with the merged region to ALL ⚠.

4. Select the region and export as MIDI file format 0.
