Can't import videos from camera "Cannot create file" error

I'm running 10.13.6 Photos 3.0. I used to be able to import videos from my Sony a7s camera, but now cannot. I get this message.User uploaded file

Things I've tried to resolve the issue:

1. Repaired the Photo library

2. Created a blank, new library.

3. Tried importing in to a brand new user

4. Reinstalled 10.13.6

None of the above worked.

Not sure what else to look for. Anybody got some ideas?

What is the extension on the video?

Have you tried using Image Capture to download the videos to a folder on the Desktop? Do so and then try to play them with Quicktime Player. If they won't play in QT Player then they are not compatible with the system.

If that's the case see if Sony has any software that you an use to convert the video files to a format that Photos can use. Or try Handbrake.

Does the camera have options to take different format videos? If so try the other options and see if those are compatible.
