iMac temporary ghosting issue with High Sierra

This issue has plagued me throughout all versions of High Sierra and is only present on my iMac.

I also note that on many forums throughout the internet, others are experiencing identical issues.

System:

Mac (27-inch, Late 2012)

High Sierra 10.13.6 (Although symtoms present in all High Sierra versions)

Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 16GB

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB

Additional Cinema Display connected by displayport

Symptom:

A temporary ghosting is apparent on the iMac display. This does not occur on my Cinema display.

This appears at first to be a physical issue, but the ghosting is per session and immediately goes away after a reboot.

This issue is only present when running High Sierra. Downgrading to Sierra removes the issue.

This issue is also from all forums accounts, only occurring on iMac systems. Whether it is a specific iMac system or graphics card is something I am uncertain about.

How to replicate:

1. Open Finder, Browser or any application that is divided by lines (this is important because it makes ghosting more apparent.

2. Use this Finder or Browser for a short period of time

3. Open an application that has a consistent colour (this could even be the desktop). The ghost image of the previous Finder or Browser is apparent.

In this example below, the bar from a previous Chrome browser can be see as a ghost. This is not present on my Cinema Display.
