No, they don't have it. Portrait (Camera) Mode requires the use of 2 lenses (telephoto and wide angle lenses) to work together to create blurring effect.

Phil mentions there are 3rd party app that can simulate the 'blur' if that's what you're after.

I tend to agree with Shag and Bob.

I believe, based on the support document the OP posted from, that they are referring to the Portrait Mode offered by the iPhone 7 Plus, 8 Plus and iPhone X which requires the secondary camera when taking pictures. Not the option of changing orientations.

iPads do not actually have this Portrait mode since they lack the secondary camera. Though there are apps in the app store that can fake it using software instead of the additional camera. Results vary depending on the App being used.

As said, the answer is No.

The Camera Portrait mode as has been said requires the secondary camera only available in the models that support the feature. iPhone 7 Plus, 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

Not even all currently sold iPhones support portrait mode, since they lack the secondary camera. The iPads also lack portrait mode.

Again, there are apps that can fake the blurry effect of Portrait mode however.

MichelPM are you sure?

I think this question is about the iPhone's with the twin cameras on the back that can take Portrait pictures.

The iPads only have the single camera on the back.

I think that you are guessing correctly but the OP’s question is a little unclear, IMO. I know that you know this, but iPads go into Portrait Mode or Landscape Mode depending on how you rotate the device and I think that is what MichelPM was thinking about when he said yes.

I know I am splitting hairs, but technically, depending on how the question is interpreted, the answer could be yes.

I also tend to agree with Bob, Shag, and you. I’m just throwing out another thought.

@ShagCA

At the top, there's an article (HT207260: Use camera modes on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch) attached to this discussion. That makes me think OP has read the article but is still unsure so she posted a question.

If I had a nickel for every OP that posted from the wrong support article or didn’t even realize that they had posted from a support article, I would be.... well let’s just say, I would have a pocket full of nickels. It wouldn’t be the first time that I had seen that happen, that’s for sure.

True. And a pocket full of nickels is better than.... an empty pocket I always say. 😉😝
