m4a codec adding silence onto tracks

Usually this really isn't an issue, but I recently purchased a primarily gapless album (MNEK's Language). Upon ripping my CD and converting it to m4a via Apple's mastered for iTunes droplet, I noticed that each track had an added .056 second bit of silence tacked onto the end.

That got me exploring some other gapless albums, like Hayley Kiyoko's Expectations, and the same issue is present.

I have attempted converting the AIFF CD rip to ALAC/WAV and then that to m4a and the silence remains. I ran the same test in iTunes and it happened once more.

Is there anything that I could do to rectify this? It's driving me up the wall.
