I have a thunderbolt display but the cable isn't long enough to reach my new retina imac. I have a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter but what I really need is a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 extension cable. About 3 feet. Does that exist?

Yes, that was where I got my adaptor and the first place I checked but not seeing extension cables there. I suspect there's some technical limitation and that's why I'm not finding it but want to confirm. Perhaps some third party makes one?

from the adapter to the Thunderbolt port on the back of the Thunderbolt display.
You can use the display's Thunderbolt cable to connect other Thunderbolt devices, if needed.
