Upgrade from 10.8.5 to High Sierra fails

Hi All,

I've just reset my Macbook Pro (mid 2012 no retina) to the original 10.8.5. OSX and made a new AppleID.

Now I can't update as the app store as 10.8.5. can make a secure connection. You 1st have to update but that fails as the pop-up "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store" when reviewing your Apple ID your back to do the update first.

It's a loop!

Reviewing my Apple ID on my iPhone doesn't make a difference.

What am I doing wrong here? How can I break this loop?

Best regards,

Update;

Found the solution meanwhile. to get a new Apple ID working go to itunes on another device and review your profile again. Follow the steps as in itunes and sign out again. This step will unlock your Apple ID on your MacBook Pro to download OSX High Sierra using the App Store. issue solved.
