I need to make a short clip that will play endlessly in a media player . . . or at least for 30 minutes.
Obviously I could copy the clip repeatedly to achieve that length but the file size would be unnecessarily large.
Is there any way to create the clip so that the media player will automatically jump to the start once it has reached the end?

We do this often in our TV studio. An animated loop needs to play on a very large HD TV screen. I create one in Motion, export it, and play it in QuickTime player. Set it to loop playback, and play in Full Screen Mode. We have an Apple TV on the television set, so I turn AirPlay on for that Apple TV, presto. Very quick, very easy.

QuickTime Player -> View -> Loop.
You also used to be able to loop a video in Keynote, as well as start the video automatically on clicking to the slide.

I suppose it depends on the media player. I am not at my mac right now but I think one can set loop playback on both Quicktime Player and VLC.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions about QT Player.
Unfortunately I don't think that will be available as the "media player" our film making group will be using is a Panasonic Blu-ray player (connected to a projector) into which we insert USB memory sticks or SD cards containing the finished videos.
On second thoughts we have a member with a MacBookPro so I suppose we could connect that to the projector and slot the memory sticks etc. into that . . . if he remembers to bring it!
Incidentally, the idea of the looping clip was that it would provide a "Welcome Greeting" as visitors arrive at the venue.
