Audio Units are not downloaded to proper folders.

Hello, when I try to download an audio unit (in this case TAL NoiseMaker), it gives me a .pkg folder. When I open this installer, it doesn't give me an option to choose destination besides "Hard Disk." So then I continue, and it says Download Successful. However, when I check in the components folder or the vst folder, the plugin has not showed up at all. I tried seeing if Logic somehow saw the plugin anyway, but looking in the Plugin Manager brought up nothing. All of the tutorials tell me to "just look in your audio units folder," and it's clearly not there. This is not the only plugin that this has happened with. Is there some sort of ghost folder these go to? What is happening to the plugins?
