GTalk (Jabber), iChat and file tranfers

I can text chat with my Google (GTalk) buddies but I can't send files through iChat (v 3.1.6). I did the default setup as spec'd by Google (SSL, port 5223, etc.) Any ideas for a solution?

Hi Jeff,

Most Jabber server now use port 5222 to log-on and also port 5220 for other things.

I have been able to do a get info on one Buddy in my GoogleTalk Buddy list (Highlight and use Apple key and i together) and it shows I can send files (or at least that Buddy can).

Make sure you have these two other ports open in the Mac firewall if On and in the modem and or router.

They are TCP protocol ports like 5223 is.
