remove finder chronology

Is there anyway to remove / hide the chronology in Finder? I'm sure it's helpful for some but it the way it divides the folders / files makes it a harder for me to do what I'm trying to do.

Set the Arrangement to None. I imagine you were trying to Sort by Date, but you chose Arrange by Date instead.

If you want to Sort, hold down the Option key when you click the Arrangment button. The options will be Sort by instead of Arrange by.

An Arrangement groups like items together; likeness based on the criteria you chose.
