I adore apple music, but as cross the world my friends are all on Spotify, do the two applications up at all in order for us to share play lists? I see there are issues with double billing for both so I think there must be some connect,

Hi. SongShift is a software I use on IOS that allows me to transfer playlist between the two services. In the past I've used it more to go from Spotify to Apple Music but in theory it should work the other way too. I've also used Stamp in past as well. Nice thing about Stamp is that there's a desktop version. Hope this helps.

No, you can't share playlists between Apple Music and Spotify. They are completely separate and distinct services.
