Aperture Plugin

I really like the flash based photo album viewers (SimpleViewer, PostcardViewer and AutoViewer) available from airtight interactive. To make them even easier to use, I created a simple Aperture plugin that exports all image files and configures the directory structure. Anyone that may be interested can find it here.

This is built on a power PC. It should work on intel as well, but since I have not tried it yet -- who knows...

Of course, all the disclaimers of use at your own risk etc. apply.

I would be interested what people think. However, since this is not my day job, there are no guarantees of enhancements or fixing problems in a timely manner.

I am so silly - I had to resize the browser to get the main image to show larger. Duh. I was expecting the thumbnails to run horizontally in rows across the top though.

Another question - I first uploaded a folder with nearly 30 images with no watermark. It showed about 1.8mb. Then I tried to apply a watermark to 16 images (*max 640 pix) and that size just about doubled to 3.1mb. Is this typical? The watermark was a psd file 1200 pix square at 72dpi with the copyright symbol on one layer and my initials on the second layer. This process is a bit new to me - any help?

I need help with this one. I have posted a gallery using the Simple Viewer and so far clients are reporting only the tops of the large images are showing (about a 3rd). I cannot reproduce this. Everything works fine on my end. 3 people have seen it and 2 reported the same problem. One was succesful. Here is the link:
http://www.rudytorres.com/harshman/index.html

Settings changed from default are:
Max Image width 900
Max Image Height 900
Version Preset Jpeg Fit within 1024...

Gallery is being produced from 300ppi Tiff images

I hope I can get this to work. No one else seems to have this problem.
Can anyone help?

Thanks

- Rudy

Rudy, I looked at your site and see three columns at the left and the large image on the right. The image size is quite nice for viewing, but it takes way too long for these images to load. What export preset are you using in Aperture? Make sure it is set to 72dpi for computer viewing. If you want to use dimensions you mentioned, create a custom export preset with the exact same settings. Maybe your viewers are having a hard time getting the higher rez images to load.

For anyone interested there is a new test version (1.1-TEST) of Flash Album Exporter available.

In it, I have added support for two JavaScript based photo albums, GreyBox and LightBox. OK, I know these are not flash, but many people did request them and I am too lazy to change the plug-in name.

Please consider this experimental for now. I am not sure if I will put it in the regular version. You decide. As always comments are welcome.

You can find the 1.1-TEST version here.
