I tried all of the above and nothing works, It keeps telling me when safe to check the usb connection. I used to have the logo on my car screen, but no longer do Help

I just bought a 2018honda accord. My apple car play was working fine with my iphone 6s. Just this past week I lost the icon for apple play on my car screen . I click on settings and smartphone then apple play then connect. I keep getting the message, When safe check your usb connection. Every thing is fine. I tried changing the wires and restarting my phone. I have car play enabled on my phone. I can't figure out why it won't connect. Nothing is letting it connect. Please Help. Maybe I should delete my phone from my car and re pair it. Or maybe delete my car from apple carplay on my phone and reinstall? I just don't know HELP

iPhone 6s, iOS 11.4.1

I would forget the device from the settings on the phone and try repairing. If you need to delete the car from CarPlay on the phone, try that also. In other words, start from scratch.
