Apple Watch Series 4

Hello. I have 2 questions:

1). I would like to order the 44mm Apple watch series 4 with the Space black Stainless steel case with black sport band. I would like to pick it up at any local store in the Oakland, CA area. Is it possible to pick it up on the 21st September when they go on sale in the stores?

2). The watch above is for my father whom resides in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. He is using an iphone under the cellular providers of Airtel and Vodacom. I was wondering if the cellular apple watch work in the mentioned area with either provider?

The North America region uses different cellular radio bands which are not compatible with the rest of the world. A cellular watch purchased in USA will not work on African networks. The official support document Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple has details of regional cellular models, countries and supporting carriers. You will notice Tanzania is not listed, so none of the networks are Supporting Apple Watch.

My advice is to wait until you get home, and buy locally so you have valid warranty cover. Apple’s standard 12 month warranty is limited to the country where the device was purchased, and many impatient travelling buyers have found they have no warranty when they get home.
