iPhone 5S earphones problem

I've noticed that the 'surround sound' on my iPhone 5S while using earphones is not working. The sound is meant to change between left and right but that isn't happening. The 'surround sound' on my 4S and 5C while using earphones works perfectly. I'm on the latest version of iOS.

Can anyone help, please?

iPhone 5s, iOS 11.4.1

I've figured out why. I had 'Mono Audio' on!

If this happens on every app it sounds like hardware. You could try resetting all settings but I would get it checked out at the store.
