Cant boot Win XP CD

I burn windows xp cd via disk utility but when i try to boot it by holding option key and selecting 'windows' cd then it just show blank black screen with blinking underscore. I checked cd on my pc and it boot normally. Anybody can help. My mac is MBP early 2008 17" and running os 10.7.5

Cannot boot Imac (late 2009) Seams that i happen to fiddle around with my harddrive in my imac (late 2009) when trying to format and so on. When i hit ALT on boot i just get to a blank screen and i just see the mouse pointer or i just get the blinking folder with a question mark. Also tried to get into recovery mode but i removed all the partitions when i formatted the drive. So i guess that there is a partition that is used with the CMD+R on boot-function? I need somehow boot on a usb drive to reinstall OSX. But i can't get it to boot? I have made a usb disk with an High Sierra image on. But only getting the folder with the question mark if i hold Option on startup. Also tried with a wired keyboard. Tried to reset the NVRAM but no luck. Seams all startup logic gone missing. What if i had bought a blank harddrive, how do you boot on usb then to install the new disk? I have also tried booting on the cd that came with the computer. After a while it ejects the cd. The only key command i have got anything other than the folder with the question mark is when holding T at startup.. then i see that blinking firewire icon for "Target disk mode" .. but.. i only have one mac. Any clue what to do with this computer?

2011 iMac only boots to Windows 7 Good day, I have purchased a second-hand 2011 iMac 21.5" (A1311 EMC 2428) few days back and it only boots to Windows 7. When I click the Boot Camp icon and choose to restart in macOS it displays "Could not locate the OS X boot volume." I cannot go into Recovery Mode or Internet Recovery Mode. I tried to reset the PRAM/NVRAM but no result (I also swapped the NVRAM coin battery). I made a bootable USB with OS X Lion on it (I believe it was the OS X that came with this model of iMac) but the iMac does not seem to detect the flash drive. When I hold the Option key while booting, it only shows my Windows 7 partition and nothing else (no Recovery partition, no Macintosh HD). I swapped the Barracuda hard drive with another hard drive and upon booting it brings me to the Windows 7 "No bootable device" black screen. Then I tried to boot into Safe Mode, and it showed a white screen with a grey folder with a question mark on it. I also swapped the hard drive SATA cable, and put everything back together with the original hard disk but still boots to Windows 7. I believe that the Mac OS partition was corrupted when the previous owner of this device installed Boot Camp (and the previous owner does not remember which version of Mac OS was is installed by the way). I want to wipe this iMac clean and get rid of Boot Camp and install Mac OS on it. Could someone help?

Wiping a Mac os 9.1 Power Macintosh G3 I am having trouble wiping the hard drive of this old computer. I believe I have the start up disc, a Macintosh Performa 6320cd. When using this disc, I first open the disc and attempt to use "drive setup." I get the following message: "The application program "Drive Setup" could not be opened, because it cannot be run on this computer." I get a similar message when trying to use "Restore All Software" and "Restore System Software." The error message directs me to start up the computer using the disc. So when trying to use the disc as the start up, I go to "Control Panel" > "Startup Disc." I have the option to restart from the hard drive, from the disc, and restore all software and restore system software (the last two are folders within the disc). But when I click restart, it only restarts from the hard drive. Do I potentially have the wrong disc? Or is there some start up code I need to put in when restarting the computer? Is there a third party program that will work with a computer this old? Thank you

i pressed f12 just after selecting windows cd to boot and windows setup showed up.
