Audio recorder speaker icon

Does the speaker icon do anything during recording... or just turn the speaker on/off during playback?

Just that, HarleyDon.

During playback:

Blue icon = Speaker enabled

White icon = Speaker disabled.

(but the playback goes on)

recording incognito Can anyone think of a way of starting an audio recording with a hot key and not have any pop ups on the screen. I’m interested in starting and stopping an audio recording without anyone that might be looking at the screen knowing? Thanks

I do not have a speaker icon on my voice memo app since the iOS 12 update. I am notable to turn it off of speaker so that I can listen to the memos privately.
