Canadian weather app data always wrong
I travel quite a bit and over the last year or so I've noticed quite a discrepancy in the current weather conditions that are shown in the iOS default weather app. Now bare in mind, I've noticed this specifically for Canadian cities, US locations' data were mostly fine.
An example, today I was travelling through a city in Alberta where it was snowing all morning, the snow turned to drizzle later. This was happening all day throughout the entire region. The iOS default weather app was showing conditions as "Cloudy" the entire time, not a single mention of snow or drizzle at all. Weather.com (the Weather Channel - where iOS app gets its data) was also showing the same incorrect conditions (Cloudy). Environment Canada, and apps that use their data, were showing the correct data throughout the period. See images below:
This happens more often than not, making the default weather app quite useless really. I've submitted numerous emails via support on weather.com but I've never received any feedback. I've also submitted feedback to Apple but I don't know how much of a priority their Canadian user base is.
I've tried numerous 3rd party weather apps but most of them also use the Weather Channel data making them just as useless. Obviously I now use a particular 3rd party app that specifically uses Environment Canada data and it's great. It's just unfortunate that Apple's own app which I really like (presentation, features, integration throughout iOS etc..) uses an unreliable weather data source.
Is there anything else a user can do beside what I've already done to try to help either Apple or the Weather Channel to get this rectified?
