Can't update SAFARI...it says SPOTLIGHT

Oops Apple, y'all messed up! I tried force quitting Spotlight and it won't quit. I'll try rebooting after I get my work done later tonight.

It looks like someone didn't test their upgrade process before adding it to the release.

Go into Activity Monitor and force close Spotlight. It should update without issue after that.

Close Safari, restart your mac and Safari will install just fine.

Uninstall your extensions then update Safari.

You can re download and install the extensions from the Safari menu bar.

Click Safari > Safari Extensions.

I couldn't find a way but restarted my computer and I was able to update then

Killing spotlight in Activity Monitor worked for me.

I had this same problem. I shut everything down and restarted my computer. Everything worked fine after that.

I went into Activity Monitor and found Spotlight then used Force Quit on it. Then the installation proceeded as normal and Spotlight automatically reopened. May want to give that a try.

In activity monitor quit the 'Spotlight' app and try again in the App-store.

I had the same problem. I quit Safari and quit Spotlight through my Activity Monitor, that seemed to do the trick.

I opened Activity Monitor and ended that process. Then went back and was able to update safari

I had The same problem you just have to open Activity Monitor and search spotlight and quit it and then install safari 12 (you should do that fast)

Try rebooting your computer. I was having the same problem as you and rebooting allowed me to upgrade

Go to Activity Monitor -> Find Spotlight -> Force Quit it
