live listen with AirPods

So often times I will only put 1 bud in. I kept getting unavailable for this route when trying to use the hearing mode. How stupid am I, for this to work you have to have both ear buds in.

Your AirPods have to be connected to your iPhone and in your ears to take away “Unavailable for current route”. Then you can click on the Live Listen to hear audio from your iPhone’s microphone straight to your AirPods.

If you don't have you AirPods in your ears then it will display "Unavailable for current route".

If you're concerned from a security point of view - you have to turn on Live Listen for it to play back your iPhone's microphone anyway.

I believe this is a feature for AirPods only, so I don't think it can work without your AirPods, but I might be wrong in my assumption.

also make sure your headphones are in your ears

I tried restarting, it didn't work.

I tried forgetting and re-connecting the AirPods, it didn't work.

What did work was when I combined the two:

1. Go to Bluetooth / AirPods ℹ / Forget This Device.

2. Restart the iPhone.

3. Go to Bluetooth / Other Devices / AirPods / Connect.

I have an iPhone7+ and the live listening doesn’t work. I’ve trued to restart and everything ughhh I really want this to workkkk cmon apple

Restarting my iPhone fixed the issue for me.

Try toggling hearing aid compatibility i was having the same issue i turned it on and now im good

I still can't make't work

Restarted phone, disconnected then reconnected AirPods and it worked.
