mind you (its not something you can do the day before your warranty ends)...

Purchase either AppleCare+ product with your new iPhone. Or buy it within 60 days of your iPhone purchase:

If you've had your phone longer than 60 days, you can't extend the warranty via Apple. You can get theft and loss coverage for an iPhone from your cellular carrier for a monthly charge in that case.
