Migrate iCloud storage

hi all, I’ve two iCloud accounts and both have 50 GB storage. Now, I’m going to upgrade one of the account to 200GB share the storage with the other account via family share. So that I can unsubscribe the 50gb for the account. I’m wondering if the content of the icloud will automatically merge together or I have to migrate them manually after i set up the family share.

Thanks

Chris

Hi, hzha034!

If I understand your post, you'd like to set up Family Sharing so that you can have a single storage plan for two separate iCloud accounts, but are concerned about your data. I'm happy to help!

Family Sharing offers many benefits, including the ability to share storage across several Apple IDs in your family group. Each individual Apple ID maintains its own private content (unless otherwise shared with other Apple IDs using the Family Sharing or iCloud services), and setting it up is an easy, seamless transition. When added to a family storage plan, data currently on your devices and in iCloud is automatically added to the shared storage. You don't have to manually transfer anything, and joining the Family Sharing storage plan will also automatically cancel your individual storage plan, refunding you for the remaining portion of your individual plan.
