Mid-2010 Macbook Pro can't launch Hardware Test DVD

I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.13.6 High Sierra. When I put the Applications Install DVD (which contains the Hardware Test) and boot the computer holding the "D" key down, it attempts to boot from the internet and fails with an error code of -3403D. The computer is connected to the internet.

If I try the same boot holding down an option-D combination, the computer doesn't fail until I finally take my fingers off the keys after a couple of minutes, when it gives me the same error code as above.

Does anyone know how I can get the Hardware Test to run?

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

Maybe 2010 you will not get it to run.

Are you having a hardware issue?

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test
