I recently moved from an old(ish) MacBook Pro to a MacBook. All files and apps were moved over via Time Machine. Everything works fine with one exception: SMS messages are not being sent or received by the Messages App. Apple iPhone to MacBook messages are fine.
I suspect there is some setting that is different or that I have missed. Help would be greatly appreciated,

Text Forwarding on your iPhone is what controls what SMS items are sent to which computer.
If you have not added the new computer here it will not see the SMS messages.

Just to check ?
The Mac showed a Code number and you entered this back on the iPhone ?
Or is it now a second device that the iPhone is Forwarding to ?
It might pay to disable both Macs on the iPhone settings then close that Text Forwarding and then Reset.

Thanks, Ralph - I did change that setting, which was a good catch. However, still no joy. The messages created in Messages on my MacBook do not get sent to non-iOS devices.
Perhaps there is another setting?
