How do you play pizz on Smart Strings?

Hi everyone! I'm running Garageband 10.3.1 on my Macbook Pro and recently got a midi controller. I'm trying to play pizz stacato on smart strings and I can't find a way to play it. Even when I play stacato on my keyboard I still get what sounds like brush strokes vs. pizz. Is there a way to change this or is it a feature only available on iOS?
