Getting error code -4960

When I try to import .jpg's into my project I get an error code -4960.
Does anyone know what might cause this and how to fix it?
Thanks.

typing '4960' into the search-field upper right of this website, it offers a long lists of threads with the same issue...

Thank you for your response. I tried some of the things listed in the article with no luck. The error code is actualy a -4960 not a 4960. I did do search for -4960 and could not find anything helpful. I also can not import audio track either. I have had my G5 imac since thanksgiving and have not had anyother software problems.

Any other ideas or people having similar problems importing .jpg's?

Thanks again.

you're posting in the iMHD5 section of this board.. any updates lately?.. which Quicktime version are you using? have you installed iLife lately, or is it as preinstalled on your Mac?

have you ever accomplish successful to import jpgs?
are these jpgs, created from Photoshop in CMYK mode (=not supported)
are these 'jpeg2000' encoded jpegs (=not supported)

how much free disk space is on your internal drive?

This is from another discussion:

"According to MacErrors.h, that error is a Core Foundation error

coreFoundationUnknownErr = -4960

That error file is located in /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CarbonC ore.framework/Versions/A/Headers/.

You might have a corrupted system. Create a new admin user account, log into it, and see if the problem persists. If so, then it's system-wide and I suggest repairing permissions. If that doesn't fix things, reinstall the latest COMBO update. If the problem doesn't pop up in the new account, then you've got problems within the original account."
