My wife and I both have series 3 Apple Watches. iOS 5 on both. Our phones both have iOS 12. We both have Facetime, and Facetime is connected to our phone numbers, not our Apple IDs. We can make Facetime calls. However, when we try to invite each other it's just stuck on Inviting. I restarted both our watches and phones, nothing. Why?

It just says keeps saying “Inviting” on my watch. Nothing ever goes to her watch to accept.
I’ve deleted the invite multiple times and tried again. Tried inviting me from her watch with the same result.
Unfortunately, no. I tried a bunch of different things that didn’t work before this. The key for me was to make sure that under FaceTime settings my email and phone number were both selected. Before this, only my phone number was selected.
Has the person invited tapped the invite or swiped up or down to see if something will happen?
Did you delete and re-add the contact?
I was looking for this thread last night so I could post that info. I could not find it though. I am glad you got it now.
This WORKS, this needs to be Broadcasted by Apple, this is a FLAW in not detailing these steps from Apple setting up Walkie-Talkie
