85W or 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter. Which is it?

I was just sold a 85W, MagSafe 2 power adapter for my MacBook Pro, Retina 13-inch, Early 2015... and re-assured that it was safe to use. Now Apple Support is telling me it's not. Where can I get a straight answer???

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), 13-inch, Early 2015

Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook - Apple Support

"Power adapters for Mac notebooks are available in 29W, 30W, 45W, 60W, 61W, 85W, and 87W varieties. You should use the appropriate wattage power adapter for your Mac notebook. You can use a compatible higher wattage adapter without issue, but it won't make your computer charge faster or operate differently. Lower wattage adapters don't provide enough power."

Using a higher wattage charger is not going to hurt your MacBook. Your MacBook is going to only use the amount of power that it needs not more. If you put a power adapter that is higher wattage, it's going to relieve the stress on the adapter, it is actually going to allow the adapter to work less. If you put a charger that it under powered, then the problem you are going to run into is you are going to stress out the charger too much and you'll burn it up as it will not be able to supply the computer with enough power. Using the higher wattage charger is NOT going to harm your computer.

There are two issues, and no others, with using a higher-watt charger:

1) It runs cooler, because it does not work as hard with the lower load of a 13-in MacBook Pro. This may allow for longer life of the power adapter as well.

2) it is very slightly heavier.

"You can use a compatible higher wattage adapter without issue", BobTheFisherman pulled that quote from the Apple article he cited.

When I buy a replacement power adapter for a 13-in MacBook pro, I always buy the larger one, because the larger one is interchangeable, and almost exactly the same price.
