iPhone XS Max volume down button working intermediately, I have to press it really hard for it to work, after I do that it works fine for a couple of minutes, but after that it goes back to being somewhat unresponsive. This is very disappointing Ive only had this phone for a couple of hours, anyone else having this issue?

Ok you guys I got my replacement from Apple, brand new, and this one doesn’t have the volume button issue... so it may be a hardware problem. Replace your phones while you can!

I took my iphone xs max in and they immediately replaced it with a brand new one. If you are having real issues with the volume buttons, then I urge you to take your phone in immediately and get it replaced--no questions asked. Thank you Apple for resolving my issue.
I had a similar problem! At first I thought it’s the case, but when I took off the case and used the button without it it still wouldn’t work no matter how hard I pressed it. But as soon as I adjusted the volume using the touch screen it started working. Which suggests it was a software issue, though I can’t say for sure.
I’m having the exact same issue with my device. I hoping this is a limited issue and not a sign of massive manufacturing defects.
Maybe it has to be broken in I hope so.
I’m actually having issues with my volume up button. It sticks and I can easily see that it is not like the volume down button. I’m going to take my phone in to get reviewed
