iOS 12 & CalDAV Calendar

Does anyone know if the security protocols have changed with iOS 12 when connecting to a CalDAV calendar?

I have a CalDAV server which has numerous shared calendars which until upgrading to iOS 12 would sync properly to and from the iOS calendar. Adding/Editing events would appear on the CalDAV server and Adding/Editing events on the Server would show up on the iOS device. Since upgrading to iOS 12, the CalDAV calendar no longer functions.

From Calendar, tapping "Calendars" and viewing my CalDAV account it states: "Unable to connect to the Internet"

From "Settings", "Passwords & Accounts" selecting the CALDAV account and viewing the settings and attempting to save returns "CalDAV account verification failed".

My CalDAV server information and credentials have not changed.

I found the following discussion on the web:

https://central.owncloud.org/t/caldav-sync-issues-with-ios-12-beta/15496/6

According to them it is the latest ios 12 beta causing the issue and not the caldav calendar.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 6S.
I solved it by going to Setting>Accounts and Passwords>Accounts>
Selecting the Calendar Account for the server.
…>Account>Advanced Settings

Then change the URL from http to https:
ie from this…
http://www.servername.com.au/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/principals/users/user@serv ername.com.au/
to this…
https://www.servername.com.au/nextcloud/remote.php/dav/principals/users/user@ser vername.com.au/

Then set the port number to 443. Go back to the CalDAV screen, press ‘Done’.

It all worked.

My CalDAV server is just a straight hosted nextcloud server running version 14.
