Is there any way an Apple TV can be tracked?

Hello.

I've recently bought a Apple TV 4th-generation.

It turns out, that it was stolen from my post-box before I even got it setup and unpacked the package.

So my question is: Is there any way, that this can be tracked?

Can the company I've bought it from, track it through the Serial Number or call the police and LOCK the Apple TV like you can with a iPhone?

And if the "thief" haven't set it up yet, can it be tracked, when they have setted it up (by getting a notification when the advice is turned on, out from the serial number?)

Or is it just bad luck, and I would have to buy a new one?

Apple TV is not trackable or lockable like iPhones. Even unregistered iPhones wouldn’t be trackable electronically.

In my country, the sender is responsible until delivery, and by extension the courier too. Packages with a value above a certain limit should have transportation insurance by the sender, and get signed off by the recipient for delivery. Without a signature, the seller should send a replacement of equal or more value. Is consumer law different where you live?

You should file a police report as a crime has been committed.
