MacKeeper

Is there any new info (since 2012) on MacKeeper? It has been on my Mac for quite awhile but I have been hesitant to use it since I read about some questions of legitimacy, or not. Yesterday I did run a scan and it showed 826 items of concern. Should I proceed?

Mac mini, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Do not install MacKeeper (and how to uninstall it if you have):

How to uninsrall it:

It contains a major security flaw, recently noted:

There is currently a class-action against MacKeeper:

(Please note that references to the original developers, Zeobit, also now refer to Kromtech Alliance Corp, who acquired MacKeeper and PCKeeper from ZeoBit LLC in early 2013.) And in that context the foregoing also applies to their latest offerings,Advnced MacKeeper, AdwareBuster and AdvancedMacCleaner ,which were quickly found to not identify much of the adware around.

MacKeeper is practically malware. It is giving you false positives, no one has 826 items of concern on their Mac. Uninstall it. No Anti-Virus software or so-called “cleaning” apps are needed or recommended for Mac OS. They can conflict with Mac's own built-in security. At best they will slow your Mac by using unnecessary resources and at worst will bork your entire system.
