There’s an email receipt of payment I didn’t make

There’s a receipt sent to email I’ve never used to register for apple ID. I am definitely not the one who made this payment. Is it possible to cancel the payment ? I have no idea which card was used for this payment tho. And is it possible to delete that Apple ID since I didn’t register it but my email was used for registration.User uploaded file

Are you sure the message is legitimate? Does it contain a link for you to sign in somewhere? It may be a scam. Check your purchases history.

Purchase History Review

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer, Dear Client or by using your e-mail address. The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information such as Social Security numbers.

The only exception to the above I have noticed is if you order something from the Apple Store (apple.com), your receipt will be addressed to Dear Apple Customer. That is a receipt for a purchase you initiated.

Identifying legitimate emails from the iTunes Store

Send the e-mail to Apple as an attachment to a new e-mail before deleting it. You can forward as an attachment by going to Mail/Message/Forward as attachment.

Thank you for your advice. It seems to be a fake email. There’s no such an app in purchase history.

The email I’m currently using for Apple ID is different from the one that receipt was sent to. So I wonder if that might be the reason I couldn’t find anything in purchase history. The receipt should never be sent to that email since I’ve never registered it. So I might be a fake one.

There’s a link to cancel the payment in email. But after clicking, it requires me to fill out my personal information. I found it suspicious so I just closed it.

Thanks again for your reply Mr Eric. I appreciate a lot.
