movie effect style of supernatural series on ITV

Hi there,

I need to create the same dark style of filming as in the TV series Supernatural where they have high contrast and dark shadows. Does anyon here know what settings they use or if it is some sort of effect in an apple application such as shake or iss it done on teh camera itself?

welcome to the world of filters and color correction. key is to experiment on clips to obtain a suitable "look"
there are a large number of filters available from free to expensive. some of my favorites are from Digital film tools. They are not fast but very well behaved and plenty of handles. places like tool farm have tons of filters available plus Nattress, Joes Filters, Magic Bullet, Digital Heaven not to mention the color corrector and other filters supplied with final cut and motion

Not having seen the TV show you're referring to, if I wanted to increase contrast I'd start with the 3-Way Color Corrector.

Thanks alot, I will try these out next week as i am on holiday from monday. Feel really ill though so hopefully it will clear up in time.

Also check out the Gloom filter - it shoulda come over from Motion...
