"Contact iTunes Store Support to complete this transaction" alert

I'm trying to purchase a gift card for my son, I have not had much success with actual cards purchased in shops, as there's always a problem.

I've purchased via the iTunes store previously, with no issue, but now cannot get a transaction to complete.

How can I fix this? I've tried contacting iTunes Store Support, but my query or request for assistance failed. Please try again later, was the response.

iPhone 6, iOS 12

You will have to contact iTunes Support and wait for them to reply, we won't know why you are getting the message to contact them. Try a different browser :

- go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww

- click on your country's flag (the country where you are, and which is therefore the country on your account)

- click on Contact Support towards the top right

- click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us'

Or try this form : https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

Thank you. I did all of the above. Just wanted to know if others had similar experiences.

I ended up up having to work it out on my own, I changed my method of payment. Even though it was and is a valid credit card, and one that I’d used 2 days earlier, prior to updating to iOS 12.

Frustrating and and annoying to say the least.

Will see see how this works out for futur purposes after today
